When Ravneet Gill was about 14, an astrologer told her mother that Ravneet would work in the food industry. It was such a ridiculous prophecy, she forgot to tell her until when Ravneet was 27 and had been a chef for seven years.

She became more interested in cooking in her late teens, especially baking cakes.
