Mpho Gift Leremi (13 October – 3 September ) was a South African footballmidfielder who last played for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League, and South Africa.
Leremi died in a car crash on 3 September near Johannesburg, South Africa.[2]
Career
Leremi was an offensive midfielder who began his career with the youth club Pimville Giants in Soweto, where he was born, and discovered by Orlando Pirates in at a local soccer tournament. Upon joining the Pirates development team, Augusto Palacios, the Pirates youth director, immediately recognized the talent in the player and took him under his wing.
Leremi made his debut for Orlando Pirates in –03 season of the Premier Soccer League on 10 August against Moroka Swallows, winning the league title in his debut season.

Yesterday marked a decade since Leremi's untimely passing at the age of 22 when his vehicle overturned after losing control of it in Alberton on the evening of September 3 Leremi and Mokoena were inseparable from a young age since they first met as teenagers in Soweto playing for a local club in Orlando. Both had similar career paths as they went on to join the Orlando Pirates academy and both subsequently went on to earn promotion to the first team. Leremi died a month after joining Sundowns in while Mokoena would later also join Sundowns inIn the summer of he moved to the then Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Death
On 3 September , Leremi was returning home after a CAF Confederation Cup game in Cameroon against Astres FC when he was involved in a traffic collision in Alberton outside Johannesburg.[3] He sustained massive injuries and ultimately died as a result of the accident.
